Starting with basic fundamentals, we avoid all nicotine, tobacco and artificial flavors. We use organic ingredients and test them to make sure that we avoid any of the harmful chemicals that may be found when heating liquids.
Our Safety Statement:
“MONQ® Therapeutic Air® is safe to use in terms of the essential oil content, as well as the heated vapor delivery system, as far as it is possible to know from current information. This endorsement applies only when used as directed, and not by people with respiratory illnesses, allergies to essential oils, or by pregnant or nursing women.
There are a variety of essential oils that can cause uterine contractions. These obviously can be problematic for pregnant women, and rather than suggesting which MONQ Therapeutic Air devices are safe for pregnant women and which aren't, we merely provide a blanket suggestion that they be avoided during pregnancy.
Similarly with respect to breast-feeding, out of an abundance of caution, we don't want to address which chemicals do and which chemicals don't pass into breast milk, and therefore suggest avoidance during this time.
How about children under 18?
Since there is no nicotine, and no tobacco in MONQ, there are no legal prohibitions against children using them.
However, we are against children smoking cigarettes, and we believe that at the impressionable age of teenagers, that merely gaining the 'hand to mouth habit' can increase the potential for a child to start smoking cigarettes.
By the time one reaches 18 years old, we believe that a habit of this nature would not likely lead to tobacco use. But since it might in younger children, MONQ Diffusers are not intended for individuals under 18.
Isn't inhaling concentrated essential oils dangerous?
That is exactly correct. However, when you are breathing on a MONQ Therapeutic Air device, you are not inhaling concentrated essential oils. Rather, you are breathing in a custom formulated mix of dilute essential oils in a carrier base of pure organic vegetable glycerin, and there is no need to inhale. Gently breathing the aromatic flavors into your mouth, and out through your nose is sufficient.
I heard that I might be exposing myself to lead, nickel or formaldehyde
Testing has not shown any formaldehyde to be present in MONQ.
There are also reports of lead and nickel in physical devices which have a superficial resemblance to MONQ. Testing has not shown there to be any lead or nickel in the air which comes from MONQ Therapeutic Air devices.
